New: a salary to hourly calculator that questions the 2,080-hour myth

· CalcHub

Divide a salary by 2,080 and you get an hourly rate — as long as you work exactly 40 hours a week, every one of the 52 weeks. Almost nobody does, which is why the shortcut so often flatters or shortchanges the real number.

Our new salary to hourly calculator converts in both directions and makes the assumptions editable. A $65,000 salary at the standard schedule is $31.25 an hour; drop to 50 paid weeks and matching that income takes $32.50 an hour. Work 50-hour weeks on the same salary and your true rate falls to $25 — the calculator surfaces all of this the moment you change a field.

You also get weekly and monthly equivalents alongside the headline conversion, since rent is monthly and gig quotes are weekly. All figures are gross pay, stated plainly.
