New: what those overtime hours are actually worth

· CalcHub

“Time and a half” sounds simple until you try to guess what Friday’s extra shift adds to your paycheck. Our new overtime pay calculator does the blending for you.

Enter your hourly rate, regular hours, overtime hours, and a multiplier (one-tap presets for 1.5× time-and-a-half and 2× double time), and you see:

Example: $20/hour, 40 regular hours, 8 overtime hours at 1.5× comes to $1,040 gross — $240 of it from overtime, for an effective $21.67/hour. The same week at double time pays $1,120.

The FAQ covers the questions that always follow: who’s actually entitled to overtime under the FLSA, why an overtime-heavy paycheck can feel over-taxed (it’s withholding, not a special tax), and when double time applies. Inputs live in the link, and the tool is embeddable.
